Our dojo is located on Salt Spring Island, a beautiful gulf island in the Salish Sea of British Columbia. We currently practice on a private property in the north end of the island, off Sunset drive.
Our dojo is a member in good standing of the Canadian Aikido Federation and the BC Aikido Federation, which are affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation in Japan.
Phil started practicing aikido in 2001 in Germany. He taught aikido for some time in Tofino and now lives on Salt Spring Island. He was a student of Frank Ostoff (studied under Yamaguchi Sensei and Endo Sensei) and attended Seminars with Endo Sensei, Yamashima Sensei, Tissier Sensei, Jan Nevelius, among others.
Sebastian began practicing aikido in Vancouver in 2005. Before moving to Salt Spring, he practiced with the Victoria Aikido Centre and affiliated dojos. Since 2014 he has practiced on Salt Spring island with Alan sensei. In 2022 he successfully tested for his shodan (black belt) under Osawa Hayato Shihan.
